I hope all the dads out there had a good Father’s Day. My wife got me a new cell phone, which just happened to be the exact same model that I used as reference in Friday’s strip. Since I got the strip done at a reasonable hour tonight, I’m gonna go enjoy the waning hours of Father’s Day watching the next episode of “When We Left Earth,” on the Discovery Channel, ’cause I’m a sucker for shows and movies about the space program.

Before I run, a couple of things to put on your calendars for this week:

• Tomorrow is Firefox 3.0 download day. They’re trying to set a Guinness world record for number of downloads in a single day. Judging by our visitor logs, a majority of you are reading the strip on some version or another of Firefox, so we thought this would be a good campaign for us to promote.
• This week marks the beginning of the 2008 Can’t Stop The Serenity worldwide charity screenings (well, assuming you don’t count Albuquerque, which held an early event on May 31). This is the third year of the charity event, and to date they’ve raised more than $160,000 for Equality Now. There’s probably a screening near you, and I encourage you to go and support this worthy cause. Seriously, all you have to do to help protect women and girls from violence and discrimination around the world is buy a ticket to see Serenity. That’s a win-win in my book.
